The Godhead

We believe that there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit; the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption (Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalms 83:18; John 4:24; II Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:12-17; I Timothy 2:5).

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; He left heaven’s glories to be born of a virgin; He lived a sinless life; He died for the sins of the world as a substitutionary sacrifice; He rose from the dead; He ascended to the right hand of God where He makes intercession for believers. We believe He is true God and true man (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 19:10; John 3:16; Acts 1:9-11; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 7:25; I Peter 2:22).

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son, and of the same nature. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He is the agent of the New Birth, regenerating sinners, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, sealing them unto the day of redemption. He also indwells, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies, comforts and empowers the believer (John 16:7-14; Romans 8:9,14,16,26,27; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14).

Man

We believe man was created in the image of God. We believe in the Genesis account of the creation and that it is to be taken literally: that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness. Man sinned and thereby received spiritual death which is separation from God. Since Adam’s sin, man has inherited a sinful nature. He is totally depraved and utterly unable of himself to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:1-24; Jeremiah 17:9; Psalm 51:5; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3,12; John 4:24).

Salvation

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, that all who believe in Him are justified by faith and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, becoming the children of God. We believe salvation is received by grace through faith in the shed blood of Christ and by this act we are made members of the body of Christ which is the true church. We believe in the eternal security of the believer (John 1:12-13; 10:27-29; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9).

Satan

We believe that Satan is a created being whose power is second only to God. He rebelled against God, and has become the open and declared enemy of God and man. We believe that Satan is the author of sin, that he caused the fall of the human race, that he continues to tempt and accuse the believers before God. We believe he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire (Genesis 3:1-24; Isaiah 14:2-15; Ezekiel 28:11-16; I Peter 5:8-9; Revelation 12:10; 20:10).

The Lord’s Day

We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day and is to be used in service and praise to His glory (Acts 21:7; Hebrews 10:25).

The Future

We believe in the personal, pretribulational, premillenial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men – the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment (John 5:28-29; I Corinthians 15:51-53; I Thessalonians 1:9-10; 4:13-18; 5:1-9).

The Church

We believe that all born again believers constitute the body and espoused bride of Christ (I Corinthians 2:12-14; II Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27).

We believe the scriptures teach that redeemed individuals should faithfully join together as local churches for worship, instruction, fellowship and service (Acts 2:41-42; Hebrews 10:25).

Tongues and Healing

We believe that tongues were given as a temporary gift to show forth supernatural evidence as to the authenticity of the church in it’s infancy. We believe that the gift of tongues have ceased (I Corinthians 13:8; Hebrews 2:3-4).

We believe that healing is not included in the atonement. God may or may not choose to heal a person according to His own desires. The sick person is encouraged to pray in faith to God (I Corinthians 15:3-4; II Corinthians 5:21; 11:7-9; James 5:13).

Civil Government

We believe that civil government is the divine appointment for the interest of good order of human society and that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, exceptions only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 5:2-9, Romans 13:1-7).

Church Ordinances

We believe the church has two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the believer’s immersion in water to show forth our faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; we believe baptism precedes church membership and is a public recognition of the Lordship of Christ.

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is observed by individual believers by the sacred use of the bread and the cup in commemoration of the broken body and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ for us. It is always preceded by self-examination (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, I Corinthians 11:23-28, Acts 2:38; 8:35-39).

The Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the sixty-six books of both the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired, inerrant, infallible Words of God. They are the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice. We believe that God has preserved His Word for the English speaking people by way of the King James Bible  (II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Isaiah 8:20).
